Rathfarnum Castle

This castle has many ghostly legends associated with it, despite it having been owned and occupied by the Jesuits for many years!
The most interesting, if macabre, story from the castle is that during renovations in 1880's the skelton of a woman in a silk ball gown from the 1700's was discovered in a wall of one of the rooms off the ballroom.
The story goes that she was locked in a secret compartment during the ball. Two suitors who were vying for her attention agreed to a duel, with the winner having the priviledge of rescuing the maiden from her prison. Sadly for the maiden, both her suitors were killed and she was left in the wall, where she died.
It was said that sobbing and crying has been heard from this room. No one has been able to determine the identity of the young woman or whether the legend has any basis in truth at all. it is known that a skeleton of a young woman really was discovered there, wearing a silk party dress and emerald jewelry. Her burial place now is unknown.
I would love to be left alone in this room to do a spirit communication session to try and get some information from the spirit herself, if she is still there.
