(Jennie Wade history here)
This picture was taken a few seconds later, with the same camera. I was following the "cold spot" back down the front steps to the kitchen. When I felt it pass by me, I took this picture.
I followed the cold spot back upstairs, where I took the picture on the left, and then down the back staircase where I took the picture on the right. I did not get any EVP at this site, so I have no clues as to the identity of this spirit. In Ghosts of Gettysburg IV, by Mark Nesbitt, it says that one of the spirits in the basement is the spirit of her father, but that there are other spirits present. I have not seen any evidence that would identify the spirit(s) as any particular person. If you have had any experiences at this site, contact us!

"My boyfriend and I visited Gettysburg for the second time last year (2002). It was our first time touring the Jennie Wade home. We took our vidoe camera with us. As I entered the home, I began to get a headache. This was odd because prior to entering, I had felt great. We continued on the tour and when we found ourselves alone in the basement,
my headache began to worsen. I had to give the camera to my boyfriend so that he could continue with the taping. As he did so, he called softly to Jennie. We didn't see anything. I asked him how he was feeling. He said he was okay. I then told him that I felt like I couldn't breathe. I havd to keep going to the basement stairway to get air. I also noticed that I felt a heaviness in the air, and vague, transient feelings of anger.
I had an impression of somewhat short, heavyset man. After about 30 minutes in the basement, I couldn't take anymore. The pressure in my head was intense and I was beginning to feel nauseous.
I returned to my hotel and took a nap. When I woke up a few hours later, I felt slightly refreshed and wanted to review the tape from the house. In the tape of the basement, we saw a moving orb. It was moving toward the right as we were facing the bed. It then suddenly backtracked and
took a fast, sharp turn upward and went into the wall. This was not a bug, in my opinion. Several bugs were visible on the t ape, and they were black. This was a grayish-white round object the size of a penny.
Its forst movements were slow, and then it had a burst of energy and sped off."
This experience was interesting, because I have read that the house is haunted by Jennie's father. Until I heard this report, I had not heard of anyone reporting the presence of a man. The people that run the Jennie Wade house did not seem comfortable
speaking with me about any paranormal activity or sightings there, so we have to rely on people like the above contributor to help us focus on a direction to take the investigation.

Lee, a visitor to this site, sent us the following report:
This past August I took a "Ghost Walk" in Gettysburg which ended at the Jennie Wade House.
I had visited this house several times before as a tourist to Gettysburg as far back as
25 years, long before all this paranormal hype. But on this occasion when the tour entered
its second room, I proceeded to a far corner to let the other tourists have room. I was
not at this space but for a few seconds when I felt a very very chilling, eerie sensation
down my back. It was like I stepped into a deep freezer. Because this was summer and the
room was air conditioned, I looked for an air condition duct. There was none. I
immediatedly left the space and when the tour guide saw my abrupt movement, he asked me
what was wrong. I told him of this chilling experience and he asked me to return to the
space. I refused, but other tourists felt the space and did not feel what I felt which
only confirmed to me that that space was not a permament cold spot, but I know what I felt.
Thanks, Lee!
