Rottingdean
I must admit, when I heard the name, I had my doubts! When we entered the town, however, any doubts disappeared. Rottingdean is a beautiful little village, with many old and charming buildings, as well as beautiful public gardens and a church that contains the most beautiful pre-Raphaelite stained glass I have ever seen!
On to the hauntings...

St. Margaret's Church
 |
The last restoration of the church was in the late nineteenth century. It is located on the site of a Saxon church, and was rebuilt by the Normans early in the 12th century. A partial re-building occurred early in the next century, when it was re-styled in the Early English style.
In 1377, a band of French pirates attacked the village. Many of the villagers took refuge in the church, which was set on fire by the pirates with the villagers still locked inside. Many of the villagers perished in the fire. The evidence of this fire can be seen today - the pink and grey color is the result of the intense heat from the fire.
This picture of an orb in motion was taken with a 35mm camera, and of the entire roll of file taken at this cemetery, this was the only photo with an anomaly!
As far as the possibility of this being a "lightning bug"...
When I arrived in England, I noticed that none of the windows or doors have screens. I was told that there are hardly any insects there and there are no mosquitoes or crickets. It was true. During our stay, we experienced a "heat wave" of a series of 80 degree days - and not one insect ever bit us or bothered us. So I feel the possibility of this being a flying insect is remote, but I am not an entomologist.
