Jarrettown Inn
I visited the Inn as part of the group that accompanied Y100 on the "Scare the Piss Out of You Tour" in October 2001. Although the site was crowded, I was able to break away at the very start of the evening and set up in a room on the second floor. I began to take temperature readings, I noticed a steady drop in the temperature towards the fireplace area. When it dropped to 12 degrees lower than the average temperature I had recorded for the upstairs, I took a photo. This small orb appeared in the photo:

Right after I snapped the photo, a whole crew of people came in and completely disrupted the energy. I was unable to get any more activity from this room.
The barn was another story. The group that went out before us saw a lock lift up and turn and unlock itself right in front of them. When I went into the barn with a small group of people, I heard someone walking around upstairs. I asked if there was anyone up there, and the guide said no, in fact, there is no way to get up there.
One story is that in the last century, a tornado swept through the area, destroying the barn. Some servants had been sleeping in the barn, and were killed by the tornado. It is said that their spirits are the ones who play with the locks and they are the source of the disembodied footsteps.
The most interesting experience I had was at home, afterwards. I was trying to fall asleep and I heard someone crying. I got up, checked around the room, and could not find a source for it. My daughter seemed restless, but was sleeping. When I got back in bed, I heard it again. This time, I got up,listened at the windows, walked through the whole house, and could still find nothing! I went back to bed, trying to ignore the sobbing. Eventually I just covered my ears, and thought to myself, "Well, whoever you are, you are just going to have to cry. I need some sleep!" Unfortunately, I was so tired I never thought of recording it, which I am still kicking myself about.
That's not all! The next morning I woke up, not even thinking about the crying. I went over and woke my daughter up and she looked at me and said,"Mommy I couldn't sleep good last night. There was a lady in here and she kept crying." I tried not to show my shock, and asked her what she looked like. "Like Barbie", she replied. Okay...
I called the radio station, thinking this would be of interest to them. They informed me that there was a ghost on the second floor that was supposed to be of a woman who looks out the windows and cries! I haven't heard her since, so my guess is that she is back at the Inn, and they are welcome to her!
