Spangler's Spring 3/31/01
A small group of us had decided that after this year's conference we would investigate Spangler's Spring. After dark, we began walking up the small hill across from the spring, because this is where we heard that the spirit had been sighted. As we neared the monument, our flash batteries died. We returned to the car, put new batteries in, and headed back up the hillside. Our batteries promptly died again.
We did get this photograph of an orb in the area of the spring. For some reason, the third set of batteries was the charm!

Devil's Den
Devil's Den
The Devil's den area was fairly crowded with ghosthunters that night, but the year before we had become interested in the area over by the sniper's hole, so we returned there this year. Last year none of the photos we took in the snipers hole had turned out. The legend is that since a dead Confederate soldier had been dragged there and photographed, that photographs taken in there don't come out. The first time I visited it, in March 2000, that legend held true. I have since been able to take photographs there in July 2000, and March 2001. As I sat by the area at the top of Devil's Den, I began to get a feel as though someone was watching me. I took a picture and got this ...so maybe my feeling was right on.
