The Chadds Ford Inn - Now Brandywine Prime Seafood and Chops

1617 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford PA

The old inn - new photos coming soon!

In 1736, John Chads converted his family home into what is now the Chadds Ford Inn. Whe he died in 1760, the inn was taken over by his nephew, Joseph Davis. It was during this time that the Chadds Ford Inn hosted some historic notables. Martha Washington stopped here on her way to Valley Forge to visit her husband, George Washington. General Lafayette stopped on his return trip to the battleground.
During the Revolutionary War, the British soldires raided the inn. They stole all of the supplies and burned the furnishings. Tax records from that time prove that the Inn sustained so much damage that no taxes were due on it, the livestock, or even the land!
The inn has now been completely renovated and has a whole new menu and atmosphere. Are the ghosts happy about the changes? Read all about the ghosts of the Chadds Ford Inn in Brandywine Valley Ghosts!
